Gregory Downing’s early experience in the intimate setting of a rural doctor’s office keeps him ever mindful of the goal of medical innovation — to bring people together to provide the best primary care for their neighbors.
Downing says communities, groups of caring individuals, can ease anxiety over rapidly advancing medical technology and help people to make sense of it. “Most people’s hearts are in the right place when it comes to using technology for health purposes, but we are not at the level where patients can make sophisticated health decisions on their own.”
