Christine Goodwin says startup founders are modern-day frontiersmen. “The adrenalin doesn’t come from the fact that it’s chaotic,” she says, “but from what’s in there — real problems that need attention and need someone to start attacking them.”
In startup world, she notes, the tendency is to defend the big idea, debate everything ad nauseum, and then find a ‘yes man’ with quick funding. But it’s never about the idea, she says, it’s always about the problem — and what, in our human experience, we can do to solve it for other people.
