When it comes to the student experience, we know that feedback is integral to the learning process. But what effect does feedback have on the teacher experience? The Business Innovation Factory’s (BIF) Student Experience Lab, together with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is in the midst of a 4-month research study to understand and answer this question.
We are recruiting three U.S. schools to help us drill down into this important space. Whether public or private, if you are an elementary, middle or high school with a passion and commitment to creating positive feedback environments in your school, we want to talk to you.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Feedback is a key factor to successful teaching and learning. This study is an opportunity for participating schools to help us understand how teachers experience feedback (both informal and formal) – where it comes from, how it is received, and what impact it has on teacher performance. We want to understand what works well and what fails to create change.
Through a week-long in-school study, you will help us solve many of the feedback challenges facing teachers nationwide. Over the course of a few days, we’ll work with innovative teachers and administrators and complete a mix of engaging qualitative research activities. (And to the best of our ability, we will NOT disrupt the flow of your school day.)
It’s a unique opportunity to make a contribution that will help positively impact your own school and the lives of students & educators on a national scale. We sincerely look forward to your participation!
