2008 BIF-4 was an interesting journey of dialogue and conversation. This conference smoothly flowed around an innovation storytelling mode enabling not only connections, but advise, solutions, and examples of how innovation lives and breathes within the confines of starting or growing a business or venture. Sometimes the conference took an enlightening tangent of random collisions including two stories into water endeavors with one about an incredible search for a long lost submarine and another about swimming and surviving more than eighteen minutes in unbearable and inhuman temperatures. Needless to say, innovation clearly lives in any exercise where human ability and passion live hand in hand. Innovators take on challenges with unique modes of thinking and they play with a healthy dose of risk fused with knowledge, perseverance, and patience.
For those aspiring innovators, take a serious look at this conference for next year. It will not only provide you an enticing format and a diverse storytelling format, but a cadre of connections from the world of sales, marketing, advertising, engineering, consulting, and venture capital talent.
I hope to return next year for my fourth year. Perhaps I will see you there and we will hear your story. Until next year, may this year be filled with opportunities, may our financial meltdown reverse itself, and may the lifeblood of innovation be fueled with new ideas and investments.
