Author, food writer and broadcaster
Simon Majumdar is the author of two bestselling food & travel memoirs, Eat My Globe and Eating For Britain. He us currently working on his latest book project, Fed White & Blue, which will catalog his journey towards American citizenship through its people and its regional cuisine.
Simon has also written for numerous magazines, newspapers and websites, including The Guardian, The Times of London, The Daily Beast and Rachel Ray Magazine. He is currently the fine dining correspondent for www.askmen.com, a men's lifestyle website with a readership of around 20 million per month.
In 2007, Simon quit his well paid career of twenty years in illustrated book publishing and set of on a journey to "go everywhere, eat everything". This journey took him to over 30 countries in one year (he has now visited and eaten in over 70 countries) and resulted in his first book. It was a travel experience that gives Simon a unique perspective on the ups and downs of following your dreams and the effort that is required to turn them into an entirely new life.
His expertise about of food and cultures around the globe led to him being selected as one of the three recurring judges on Season Three of the hit Food Network show "The Next Iron Chef" and his performances as a judge were so well received that he was asked to reprise his role for Season Four (2011) and Season Five (to air Fall 2012). Simon has also become a regular on many other Food Network shows including "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" "Extreme Chef" and "Iron Chef America".
In Fall 2012, Simon will star in his own Food Network show, "Undercover Critics"
