MIT AgeLab

The MIT AgeLab was created in 1999 to invent new ideas and creatively translates technologies into practical solutions that improve people's health and enable them to "do things" throughout the lifespan. The AgeLab has assembled a multi-displinary and global team of researchers, business partners, universities, and the aging community to design, devlop and deploy innovations to improve quality of life.

Quality Partners of Rhode Island

Quality Partners of Rhode Island is a non-profit healthcare quality improvement agency based in Providence and serves as the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Rhode Island. Quality Partners provides consulting, research and education services. We collaborate with national and local government agencies, healthcare providers, stakeholders, insurers, educational institutions and foundations on many healthcare quality improvement initiatives.

Tellart

Tellart

Tellart is a design firm specializing in Web, Mobile, and Embedded product and service development. Tellart works closely with product manufacturers, retailers, architects, and inventors to research, conceptualize, design, engineer, and prototype new products, projects, and mixed reality experiences.

Tockwotton Home

For this effort, the partnership team engages residents and staff at Tockwotton Home, a 30-bed assisted living center and 42-bed skilled nursing home located in Providence, R.I. The Tockwotton Home provides the partnership access to a working home where residents and partners can co-develop a real-world understanding of the elderly experience and a platform for developing and testing new solutions.

Masco Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of brand-name consumer products for the home improvement and new home construction markets. Masco, which has approximately 6,300 shareholders and 52,000 employees, was drawn to BIF by the power of its Experience Labs and the role the labs might play in its own innovation program.

SCA is an international consumer goods and pulp and paper manufacturer based in Sweden with products deployed to >90 countries. Annual sales in 2007 were 11.4 billion EU, with Personal Care products generating 21% of those sales. SCA employs over 50,000 individuals.
