Allan Tear
Allan Tear’s work as a strategist, manager and entrepreneur in collaborative innovation spans the for-profit and non-profit worlds. As Experience Lab Director with the Business Innovation Factory, Allan works with BIF members and partners to build a collaborative innovation platform and supporting processes to catalyze "what's next" experiments in Healthcare, Education, and Public Safety. These large-scale applied innovation projects include a living lab for the future of elder care, a redesign of the ER Trauma Bay, and a Test Bed for Homeland Security and Public Safety Applications.
With over 15 years experience across the globe, Allan is most recently a founding partner of the Aptus Collaborative, a team of expert advisors in innovation, global partnering, and technology strategy. A serial entrepreneur, Allan was on the founding team of three venture-funded technology firms. In the first 10 years of his career, Allan served as technology executive for Fortune 500 and startup companies in the US, Europe, and Asia, including Nortel Networks, Elastic Networks, and CNG. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Public Policy.
