For Carol Coletta it’s all about the power of cities. The former President for CEOs for Cities exudes passion for making urban life the epicenter of innovation and creativity. In an environment where the elite split their time between multiple residences, where do you call home? Coletta urges us to use the city as a platform to recruit, retain and develop talent, so our “distinct-less” cities, can regain their identities and thrive.
Carol Coletta is the president of ArtPlace, a collaboration of top national foundations, the National Endowment for the Arts and various federal agencies to accelerate creative placemaking across the U.S.
Prior to ArtPlace, Coletta was president and CEO of CEOs for Cities and host and producer of the nationally syndicated public radio show Smart City. Before moving to Chicago to head CEOs for Cities, she served as president of Coletta & Company in Memphis. In addition, she served as executive director of the Mayors’ Institute on City Design, a partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, United States Conference of Mayors and American Architectural Foundation.
