Jim Mellado
President, The Willow Creek Association

Jim Mellado is president of The Willow Creek Association, responsible for providing overall leadership to staff and volunteers, helping accomplish WCA's purpose of maximizing the life-transformation effectiveness of local churches. He has been with the WCA since 1992, and has served as its president since 1993. Over the past 18 years, the WCA has developed a respected history of excellence and innovation in serving local churches and their leaders. In that time, the WCA has inspired and trained more than one million church leaders and has created and distributed millions of church resources into tens of thousands of churches representing more than 90 denominations. With more than 10,000 Member Churches in 35 countries, WCA leadership training events are now held in more than 250 cities in 50 countries each year.
Jim graduated cum laude with a Mechanical engineering degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and is a 1991 graduate of the Harvard Business School. While a student at Harvard, he wrote a case study on Willow Creek Community Church. In 1988, he competed in the Olympic Games (decathlon) in Seoul, South Korea for the country of his birth, El Salvador.
