Writer, Director, Producer, Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld
Andy Robin is an award-winning film and television writer, director, and producer. After graduating from Harvard College in 1990, Robin began his career at Saturday Night Live, where he co-wrote the popular "Copy Machine" sketches with Rob Schneider and helped launch the careers of Adam Sandler, David Spade, and Tim Meadows. When Jerry Seinfeld hosted SNL in 1992, his producers invited Robin to write for their then-cult sitcom Seinfeld. Robin moved to Los Angeles and began a seven-year stint on the blockbuster show. While at Seinfeld, Robin penned over a dozen scripts, including such memorable episodes as "The Junior Mint," "The Jimmy," and "The Fatigues," which garnered the 1998 Writers Guild Award. He became the show's Co-Executive Producer, receiving four Emmy nominations and two People's Choice Awards along the way. Since 1999, Robin has been developing television shows for NBC, CBS, and Fox and writing and punching up screenplays for various studios. In 2004, he began co-writing Jerry Seinfeld's feature film debut, Bee Movie, an animated Dreamworks comedy to be released in 2007. In 2005, Robin co-wrote and co-directed the independent film "Live Free or Die," which won the 2006 SXSW Film Festival and will soon be featured at the Gen Art, Seattle, and Atlanta Film Festivals. He also co-wrote the 2005 Simon Spotlight paperback Saving Face, a humorous guide to surviving awkward situations.
