BIF Welcomes Leigh Anne Cappello as Patient Experience Lab Director
BIF is delighted to welcome Leigh Anne Cappello, accomplished business strategist and futurist, as our new Director of the Patient Experience Lab. Leigh Anne is a leader in consumer experience modeling, with deep expertise and understanding of the power of play to enable consumer engagement and behavior change.
Leigh Anne spent the biggest part of her career as an executive at Hasbro, initially in marketing and most recently in design, serving as Vice President and Futurist. While at Hasbro, Leigh Anne built global brands, launched new businesses, and led cross-functional teams in rethinking the future of play for Hasbro globally. Leigh Anne was also instrumental in fostering an innovation-centric culture at Hasbro.
Most recently, Leigh Anne co-founded and launched a cutting-edge consumer technology startup that is currently in stealth mode, for which she remains an advisor. There, she developed an intense appreciation for transforming the health care experience of children, families, and elders.
Leading BIF's Patient Experience Lab is a natural extension of this work and passion. Through the Lab, Leigh Anne will work with leaders — from insurance companies to medical systems to design wholly new business models and health systems that put citizens on a path to wellness. Her work builds on a foundation of work from the Patient Experience Lab that includes new models for population health, solutions to reduce preterm births, and opportunities to redefine future of aging. "Leigh Anne is a purposeful innovation junkie, determined to make people's lives better," says Saul Kaplan, Chief Catalyst at the Business Innovation Factory. "We are very excited to unleash this power to transform health care. The time has never been better."
Leigh Anne's hire comes at a time of rapid expansion of BIF's real-world Experience Labs. Earlier this year, BIF welcomed Sam Seidel to lead the Student Experience Lab, and continues its search for a Citizen Lab Director.
